how to polish glass?

I just out in a new low beam head lamp... it's nice and clear and shiny so I want to clean up the other three lamps, (low, both high beams) I have some diamond lapping compound and I was thinking of using a felt wheel to apply it. Any suggestions?

I would try a mix of rubbing alchohol and water with a paper towel and see if that worked first..It works well for windows so it should work on the lights..
