Fan delete mod e36

I'm thinking of doing this (and replacing the waterpump while im at it) over the winter. Has anyone done this before? Looks fairly simple minus the loosening of the electric fan, since I think BMW designed a tool to aid in removal.

Talk to me.

Do a thread search on "fan delete" in the E36 section. Here's a few to start you off:

And you don't need the special fan tool. A big screwdriver or allen key will do the job. Just jam it between two of the bolts while you turn with the wrench.

I began looking though the kits available and I can't decide on one.

1.understeer.com
205$ gets you absolutely everything you need plus a new metal impeller water pump and aluminum thermostat housing.

2.Bimmerworld.com
Same as understeer package MINUS 1 bottle of Redline Water Wetter (and unless it comes with the thermostat and doesnt say) thermo. o ring and profile gasket.
$163.96

What to do...
