Good Info for ALL

(Harry, you might want to make this a "sticky") This is a good site for ALL BMW DIYs & it covers almost all models for basic care & maintenance.

Hope it helps ... :iwave

I contacted the guy a while back to submit some of our DIY's, but he wanted to strip all recognition of UB.c and rewrite them. I believe the guy who runs it is from BF.c.

From looking at a bunch of entries, it looks like he doesn't even rewrite them just links them. I just thought it looked like a good source for basics

Yeah, I've also talked to him before and got the same thing as Dudesky. He's a bf.c fan, and it is great information, however biased. :)

No doubt- it's the largest collection of info links on the net, pretty famous site. But in conversations with him a few months back, he said he will no longer link stuff, and instead rewrite/reformat the future submissions so they are hosted on his site. You'll only get your name at the bottom of the article for credit. And if that's gonna be how it is, then I'd rather keep my info here :)

Thanks for posting this I did not know it was out there and it looks like it has a lot of good info.

Hi all,

I run the site (just got a link in my email from somebody to this thread)..

I wanted to say I have no partiality to bf.c or ub.c .. I have backlog of articles and links I have to add into the system which will be added soon along with a few other updates on how the site operates internally.

As for whether I "link" to the site or copy the article, that depends on my options. If the article author allows me to copy the article, I prefer to. If not, I would just add a link (and keep the backup of the whole article on my hard drive just incase the linked site disappears someday)

^^^The E36 ICV cleaning DYI you have is for the M40, so I offered you my M50/52 version last summer. I replied back to you that I preferred you link it instead, I never saw it entered. Which I took to mean you either copy it or don't include it at all. Sorry for the confusion. But I think it would be useful since most people who look for that ICV DIY own inline sixes. Anyhoo, welcome to UB :)
