Water in tail lights?

That's what I found :mad :videogame Take apart the whole thing to drain it? All day long! Idea: take a pump spray bottle and remove the pump spray handle and tube. Use that to pump out the water, then put paper in to soak up the rest. *snap* :wiggle

For what? Just add fish :D

...i like the fish idea.
how did it take u all day long? E30 tail lights are held in there by like 10 bolts..just get a 8-10mm wrench and go at it?

Yeah, true. What I did went really fast. Keeping the rain gutter around the deck lid clean will prevent that from happening again. :deal

I just discovered i had the same problem. so i took the tail light that had water in it and drilled a 1/8 dia. hole in the bottom of the tail light assembly. the water will now run out to the bottom of the tail lamp and run right off the bumper. and then for good measure i did the other side as well.
i also had a wasp in one of my tail lights.

I also just made 2 holes in the bottom of light with soldering iron with small tip made neat holes as i had no drill to use when i discovered th water.

The "drill hole" idea sounds logical but has anyone had any long term problems after doing this? also, does it look bad?

I had this prob on my 03 Ford Focus a few months ago. I couldn't get into the taillight so I simply drilled a small hole in the bottom of the light away from the wiring and let the water drain out. I drilled it in a spot that if water did get in again it would drain straight back out.
