Anyone want a brake pad changing DIY? Or a Brake Bleeding one?
I may be changing pads in the next few days and/or bleeding my brakes, just wondering if anyone wants a DIY, even though these are pretty easy tasks. If so I will take some pics as I do it and do a write up.

Definitely! Yea, fairly easy, but never assume everyone knows how :)
|
That'd be great! The more pics and details the better to, never assume the reader knows anything in a DIY. :)

Well I went to buy pads today but the place will not have them until next week, so I think i'm just going to order them off of the internet, and do it from my parking lot when I get up to my appartment at school next week (if i'm not drinking too much). Sorry for the delay but once I get around to It I will post the pics and a write up.

I was going to make a rotor/pad install DIY with pics, but my goddamn camera is busted now. I just ordered new front rotors too..
I also took a shitload of pics for a step by step oil change, but someone reformatted my camera without fucking asking me.. and its my goddamn camera. :angry |
Allright here is the deal with this, The fluid was changed yesterday because it was needed for my tech inspection (for a drivers school) that the dealership did (for no cost, which was a huge surprise) So they changed it while I was there. I am still thinking about doing at least my front pads as my rears still have A LOT of pad left. I am headed to school on monday and If i have time I will order some pads and get it done when i'm up there. But no promises.

Any update on this? :)
|
At the moment this has been pushed back, the fluid was changed when I had a tech inspection done a couple of weeks ago, and the pads all turned out to have a lot of thickness left. So I am waiting to do this, probably sometime in early november after I goto the track and go through a set of pads. Plus I have been too busy with school and have not had a chance to get anything I need, and I dont have any tools with me at school (even though I dont need much to do this). When i get around to it I will post a DIY for the new knowledge base.

Any update with the pad and brake bleeding?
|
I made one for the pad changes, its pretty easy. I think i listed a size of a wrench wrong in one of my pics but otherwise its allright, thanks for reminding me I will go in and fix the offending mistake. Check the DIY section. I have not bled the brakes but that should be pretty easy you will either need a buddy to help out and pump the breaks for you or else something to create pressure in the brake lines. If you want some more info let me know and I can do a quick little write up.
*edit* Just updated my previous post under a new post with corrections. |
I'm about to do a brake flush, I'll try to take pictures and see how it comes out.
