Question about accessing back of glove compartment in a 2002 bmw 330xi

Hi Guys

I have a 2002 BMW 330xi.
I had a pioneer avic n1 profesionally installed a few years ago.
Its starting to break down and I'm looking to replace it with a pioneer avic n4 by myself. Wanted to add on bluetooth and xm as well.

The place that installed it for me went out of business so I can't ask them any questions. I believe that the guy installed the hide away unit behind the glove compartment.

Can someone tell me how to access that part of my car. I know how to take the glove compartment off. There are plenty of tutorials on that. But I'm not sure if that will be enough. I'm wondering will I be able to access the hide away unit from there?

Can anyone tell me how to remove the upper portion of the dash board above the glove compartment/airbag? I believe I will need access to that part in order to get to the hide away unit but am unsure until I open it up. I've been doing multiple online searches but haven't been able to find any DIY or pictures of removing the upper portion of the dash. Guess that's not a very common thing. Thanks in advance

EL
