I like some of his ideas in that video, I think I'm gonna try some of that since I have a set of LED AEs lying around just for fun.
hey bud thanks for the heads up about those ebay AE's
and about which im gonna go with, i obviously know what the led deal is... but honestly i dunno what the CCFL eyes are... what are they?
i know i would be virtually effortless to look them up but... perhaps you can gimme a brief description and maybe a picture or explain the difference from those and led's :P
and i would make a video of the procedure im sure
ohh yes... and on a honda it does look a bit retarded =)
The reason I say they don't look good on an E30 is because its headlights are not projectors. When you turn on the headlights, you can't see the angel eye ring on the low beam anymore, as you can see from that youtube video.
CCFL stands for Cold Cathode FLourescent. The ring is actually a tube with a high output flourescent bulb running along the entire length on the inside. It's powered by a ballast, just like any other flourescent light fixture you might have in your home. If you look at my sig below, that's CCFL. If they were LED's, you would barely see it, if at all in daylight.

well, some e30s have sealed beams but some do have projectors. they are called ellipsoids and come in a u.s. version and two euro versions. they still look like crap though.

i just put on my hellas yesterday. they are a huge improvement on the stock ones. they're also not street legal but i figured nobody is gonna pull me over for my lights bein too bright. besides, once its lowered i'm not gonna be blinding anyone anyway.
