University Student wanting to own an M3 as soon as possible

Hey guys,

I am a 1st year university student with a few thousands dollars in the bank and I currently drive a 98 Honda Civic EX that has 122,000 kms on it.

Me dream is to own an M3 as soon as possible, the problem is that I have little money nor time to get a job to even start to try and afford an M3.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to how I can get the money I have to start working for me so that I could possibly own an M3 in a year or two? Keep in mind I will be working for 4 months during summer and will likely work part time during second year.

Well, first thought is what kind of M3? OBD I (Pre '95) E36 (91-98). E46 (99-06)?

The prices can go from 10k -> 60k.

I'm going to assume a mid milage E46, say 03 or 04. So about $40k.

Safe route would be to work and save the old fashion way.

Smart route would be to invest in something like Bank Stock which my family did not long ago. I myself have 13k invested which is expected to no less than double (expecting around 260%) in 2 years.

You could day trade stocks. Have your M3 in a week if you're lucky. o.O;

You could speak to komodo (site owner) if you're into web development and know anything about pay per click stuff. He's running some project on those lines.

I'm still young so I don't know much about business investments and such but thats what I've picked up along the years.

rob a bank.

i want an M3 too, but im gonna wait until i graduate college. your not going to want to get an M3 (or any higher priced car, cost and parts, etc) with a budget where you can just make it. you would be stretching yourself too think and putting yourself in a bad situation.

If you save you'll probably be able to afford a high mileage e36 sometime. But like celsdogg said, there will really be no point in saving for an M3 and getting one, then turning around and having the radiator explode and not have the money for repair. I am also a first year university student who's dream car is an M3, but I'm guess that while it might seem forever now it will go by faster than you think.

Oh, not to detract from EcianIce, but be careful with the day trading the costs per trade can add up and you can end up loosing more in fees then you would with sticking with something for a while.

I will say do it the old fasioned way and save up or else if you have a time machine go back and get some friends and get in line to buy some ps3s and sell them on ebay.

Yeah, everyone wants an M3. Start off by buying an E36, then move up, it's what a lot of people do. I'm waiting to graduate college to buy a Euro M3.

Start a business. Or if your parents have one..help them out.

You should control your income..not other people.

find a niche, work on your skill...and charge the hell out of people. (Be professional along the way..then the 3rd thing will be cake)
