E30 pricing going up?

Is it just me or has the pricing of the E30 M3 skyrocketed???

Autotrader Search

I remember when I saw one with 25k mi for $25,000 and a normally driven one over 100k miles just around 10k or less. Some with lower mileage around $12k.

What is up with those prices?

its becoming a classic. plain and simple.

Numark318i 10-16-2006 01:48 AM

yea..those prices are kinda ridiculous.

six months ago there was one for sale for 11 on E46fanatics.
Wish i had the money.

But i guess it is a classic. and i do live in CA where there alot more E30 m3's.

The e30 M3 is turning into a more rare car and people realize how sweet they are and want to get their hands on them.

Alot of time it's because the factory has released a newer version making the 1st/earliest version that much more popular. IE: when Chev released a new version of the Corvette, the earlier model prices always spiked upward. (especially when their brocures show pictures of the "then & now") It seems to be a trend when a new generation of a production model is added.

I know.... not really apart of the topic, cept, for when I mention the $23,000 price tag :doh . I can see the point of views mentioned here, but still, damn. I was looking forward to pruchasing one, now that my income has quadrupled. Setting aside a little money here for those goodies in life. But damnit, this shit is annoying.

^^^ nice video. its a keeper. just wish they would lower the music so you could hear the car better.

E30 M3, the holy grail of the E30.

Doesn't matter right now, no sound on work computer. I have a vid of one from 5th Gear (I think, the show with Jeremy?, but before he was on it) The sound is sexy. They drive it against a same year euro car, i think it was a Lancia, but I'm not sure. The host didn't sound to pleased with the outcome when revealing the lap time of the M3 saying it was slower than a Mitsubishi Colt?... I really am not remembering the facts, I must find that vid.

EDIT: Found the vid on google::: 5th Gear: E30 M3 vs Lancia Delta 16v

that "intergrale" looks like a crappy old school golf.

and whether or not the results are true, the M3 is an overall nicer ride than a mitsu colt.

Out of all the ones in my area that are online, this one seems the most attractive for the (high) prices:

European Motorwerks Inc.

Man, I just want one. I don't know what, but it's that urge. I can afford it, but I don't know how to justify buying a 17 year old car, with over 100k mi, for more than what my car is worth. :ranting
