My econobox M43 engine gets me about 12 km/liter = 28.2 miles/gallon(US) in city driving.
We have 95 RON petrol if that makes a difference...
Just for reference my previous car (94 jdm WRX) gets me on average 9.2 km/liter = 21.6 miles/gallon(US). On the standard engine program it has twice the power of my E36 (~220hp) and I used it a lot, heh... (who cares if it's an auto)

My obc says 19.4 mpg, but I think that's wrong---all of my driving is done at about 55 mph, but I do gun the engine sometimes at stoplights---shouldnt I be getting like 24 or so?

Dinan540.... Keep in mind you have a huge engine. You have a V8 thats modded to basically dump fuel into the system to get the most performance out of it. If you want to feel better, get chrisworrell to tell he gets with his Mustang GT.
And BTW our Navigator gets like 9MPG in the city because of its age and state of disrepair.

I get about 18-20 in my iX but thats probly because I drive about 80 mph everywhere I go (I can't help it in my old civic i'd be hitting 30 with the same pressure on the gas pedal)

ok, i gassed up again and got 27.1 mpg. i used to only get 23/24.
this is probably going to sound weird, but could anything be wrong? i mean, what would cause my mileage to actually increase?
i know what your thinking, its a good thing, dont question it, but im wondering. power delivery is the same and everything seems fine. just seems funny.

I get about 28 mpg highway and in the city I get about 20 mpg. You just got to remember not to bet the shit out of your car. Just drive like an old man to get good mpg.

Tank before last I pussyfooted the 840 around my all suburban driving (anything over 45 is speeding) for about 100 miles and got about 13.1 mpg.
Just drove it like I usually do without worrying about it for 230 miles on the last tank. Got 14.1 mpg !
I suppose that if I ran it around in S4 it would get better yet but I keep having to "listen to it run" when I am in Sport.
BTW my '95 Mustang Cobra gets about 13.5 mpg if I baby it and about the same if I am "Listening to it run" in traffic. Of course others get to listen to the Cobra run too. The BMW is too quiet for them to enjoy

Kinda classic V8 mileage from what I hear. The torque in the big engine levels the average some it seems. And celsdogg better mileage = good news always. I'm getting better too, But I'm cheating, using mom's 2.0 4 banger VW 115HP

Thats it, I am getting a 4 cylinder. Too bad, the M1 isn't coming to the US. I would buy that in a heart beat for my daily driver.
