i hate long trips
I just got back from a drive back home from school.. I go to school in MI and my family just moved up to MN.. So my car was packed to the max, with just enough room for me..
It took me 12.03 hours, 24.3MPG avg, 61.6MPH avg, and 744 miles.. I was a little disappointed with the mpg, but i guess the weight brought it down quite a bit.. plus its an old car..
My biggest worry was overheating.. for those of you who have had this happen, you know that once it happens, youre always staring at the temp gauge.. when i stopped for gas in minneapolis, it started jumping towards the hot sporaddically, until i cranked the heat up, and revved the engine a couple times.. back on the highway though, it did just fine.. Any clue as to whats wrong with it?? Trapped air?
Anyways, im glad it made it.. Oh, I also found out my tank leaks when filled over halfway.. The more in there, the faster it drips out.. POS

the temp gauge...my car does it sometimes. I think its either air in the system or a faulty temp battery connection of some sort. Try opening the radiator when still warm(not hot) and then put some more water. It fixed my prob.
long trips=the best

About the temp gauge - I'd have a look at coolant level
