My mom is selling the 540 :bawling

She says it's getting "old" for her :dunno

She is either going to buy a newer (2000 +) 540 :love

or an X5 4.4 (wish it would be a 4.8 but too expensive for us) :D

I'd prefer to see her get a newer 540... but the 4.4 x5 wouldn't hurt either, she's going to go test drive the X5 soon, and see how she likes the change from her car... That will determine the future car... :rock

Hmmm, X5 4.4 vs 540i (2000-2003)

Hmmmm, well. I like the 540i alot. But, IMO....the only worthy 540i of purchasing is with the Sport Package. So if it were a non-sport 540i, I'd have to say X5 4.4.

Otherwise, is she looking at getting a new or used X5? I like the new face the X5 got.
And, in the 4.4, you feel the power.

Either way, not a bad choice.

you should check out the x3s. when i was test driving x5/x3 the x3 was a much better drive. almost made me forget i wasn't in a normal 3 series.

Either would be a good choice.... I'm not a big SUV fan, but I do like the X5...

I think the 540 would be my choice though.

Get a newer E39 540. The X5's have 0 handeling and they are 3 series slow. with a 0-60 time of 7 seconds for the 4.4 compaired to 6.2 of the 540 you will notice the difference so much. But if shes looking for a good suv I guess BMW is one of the best you can buy. They do have the nicest interiors and options.

My brother messed it up!

He kept on telling my mom that the Roadster would been too small for her, blablabla, she doesn't want it anymore :bawling

She test dorve the X5 today (v6 and v8) she said that the v6 just sucked, lol and that the v8 was fast but not nearly as quick as her car :lol

So she's gonna go with another 540 but 2001 or newer :rock

I get to do ONE mod of MY choice on it :woot
