bimmer shopping
Hello guy and girls. I finaly found a BMW forum, awesome. Anyway my question is for all you Bimmer owners who have ever owned Japanese. I know the cost of BMW parts is higher than Japanes, but how about reliability? I know thats a pretty vegue question, but I will be buying a car soon and I am definetly going BMW ( leaning towards but not limited to E36 ) and would like to know what to expect. Thanks a lot.

I owned a Jap Honda Civic when I was 16 (It was a gift / not by choice). It was reliable until I hit a telephone pole head-on at 40mph. Reliability of BMW's is great IMO. I have had no trouble with mine, but have only had it a year or so.

very reliable, my friend has an e30 with 200k+ on the motor, runs like a champ, girlfriends 325 has higher mileage hasnt had any problems. i have 2 e36's that have never really gave me any issues. My dad drives an e36 m3 that has never had one problem and my moms 2000 328ci runs like its straight out of the showroom.
Like every car you can buy lemons. But for the most part you do not have to worry about that, i would take the car to a mechanic before buying the car, if it all checks out get it! are you looking at a 535?

Haha that was 10 years ago now. And yes, it was an inexperienced driver at fault. I wasn't watch ing the road when the pole jumped out in front of me and I was like and then then got my insurance money and was all
