1 series in US?
Does anyone know if BMW is planning to introduce the 1 series in the United States? I have heard rummors that they were and then that they weren't and now I have no Idea. I would personally love it if they brought it over in a coupe variant, maybe look something like this: 1/2 Series
Oh and I think the 130i is pretty sweet : 130i info

1st link is the 2 series, but since bmw gave up on their new numbering strategy I assume it would be called a 1 series. And its just the one series in a coupe format, rides on the same platform and such.
not a fan of the 1 series, BMW should stick to what they know best. To buy a BMW has to be the 3 series for sportyness, 5 series for family life, 1 series is a waste of space imo.

I dont' think it would be cheap. It has the same engine and drivetrain as the 3's, only a smaller body. It's very similar to the old 318i. Same concept different car.

i'm sorry, i'm gonna have to call you on this. BMW does small compact and reliable very well. just not in the united states. You go anywhere in western europe and you'd be hard pressed to find any BMW with an engine bigger and 2.3
and the "1 series is a waste of space IMO" .... the 1er sells better than any other series BMW in europe... and i DARE you to try and find the space to park a 5er let alone a 7er in downtown paris..... HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!
sorry, but i love the 1er and it does what it was built to do and does it well, and i'd drive it.

If it can be priced in the same range as a VW Jetta... meaning the 2.5L six fully loaded with leather ~$24k, I'd be interested. At over 30mpg, with the HP to have fun with, damn. I'd buy one, assuming I'll have the money in the future. The hatchback feature is very usefull when you need it.
Dough
btw, if you think this looks ugly... then compare it to the M coupe, that's ugly. I know I know, some of you will tear me apart for it, but imo, the M-coupe looks like a shoe. D

I hope not. Might as well slap a focus symbol on it and call it a day.
