Smile Need some direction to the best online parts place

I just got my 1989 325i convertible with 125k miles. Its awesome but needs some work, mostly cosmetic.

2 immediate issues I need to deal with -

1. The auto locks are very bad. The passenger side doesnt unlock at all. The guy at Autohauz seems to think it is the door lock actuator but didnt have any in stock. has anyone else had this problem and is this the issue, or will I need new door lock assemblies? The driver's door is getting bad too and I'm afraid to lock it in case I cant unlock it again and get stuck somewhere.

2. The key I have doesnt open the trunk. Its a copy or maybe a valet key - not sure but it wont open the trunk. Should I get a new lock assembly or should I just have a lock smith get into it and re-key it?

Some other things I will need to do eventually:

1. fix the glove box. Broken
4. small leak in the convertible top
5. fix the hood cable release (broken handle, using pliers to open it now - not good when you keep leaving the lights on LOL) - working on this now
6. Needs a cover for under the steering column.
7. fix the handle to put the top down.
8. eventually the seats needs to be recovered - original leather is split and cracked & worn. but the heaters work nicely!

So where is the best place to get these things since going thru BMW is insane. (i.e.m $222 for the hood cable release vs. $73 from autohauz)

Mostly cosmetic but I got my toy so I am happy.

Thanks for your help.

Try PelicanParts.com. I just ordered some things from them and they seem pretty reasonable.

eBay is okay or some things, but it's really hit or miss. Other then Interior trim peices I would definitely try Pelican Parts or another vendor. I've heard to many stories of dash parts being shipped with large cracks in them.

Another Good Site for parts is AutoPart Warehouse at "www.autopartswarehouse.com". I gotten most of my part from them. They are very cheap and most time the part are shipped the next day without any extra fee. I also go to www.bmwfans.info There i fine the part number for item I'm looking for with a full picture of the parts and location.
Hope that helps....
