our duty as a global community

as a global community, it is our duty to cater the the needs of BMW enthusiasts everywhere right? I think we do a great job of doing that, except we don't have subforums for all BMW's worldwide.

what i'm really talking about here is the BMW 1 series. i absolutely love the car and think they're extremely sexy little cars and deserve some representation on on UB.c

on a side note, maybe we should ahe a motorbike section too.

Right you are Chris!

if we had a 1 series forum, no one would post in it BECAUSE THEY ARENT BEING SOLD YET(atleast i dont think) and i know, you would post like vids and pics and stuff, but still

Top Gear made fun of the 116d or whatever the entry model desiel is. Going 0-60 in your Ultimate Driving Machine is 11.6 seconds.

I want the 130i, and I want them to produce a coupe version and bring it to the US, I would buy one once I get out of college, esspecially if there was an M Version.

beem 08-07-2005 01:23 PM

screw the 130i. They need a 160il

Rooz 08-07-2005 01:29 PM

don't forget the older 1series, aka M1 ;)

witeshark 08-07-2005 01:51 PM

The 120d is what I wanna get :drive2

haha THANK YOU! some one said it before me. its not like any of the other model forums even get posts anyway, what makes you think our "international" element ( what like 20 people?) would own a 1 series, or post in the forum ( possibly to solve problems to a brand new car, that could much easier be fixed by the dealer, probibly still on warenttee) of course all on a car that isnt even for sale yet.

DEATH2000 08-07-2005 02:08 PM

If were gonna put in a 1-series forum we should at least wait till they come to North America. There a good car in Europe and such but in north america there not the best.

nick_318is 08-07-2005 03:07 PM

I will agree we should wait until they are onsale here if BMW ever brings them over, I have heard so many rumors saying they are going to and that they aren't going to, I dont even know. I'm just saying that if they ever bring them over a 130i would be sweet or else a coupe version.

Yes they are being sold - remember this is supposedly a worldwide forum not a US forum - the 1 series has been sold over here for ages and is far from the most popular BMW ever conceived.

Remember in the US you don't like small cars, you don't like small engined cars, you don't like hatch backs - Why are you confused that BMW don't release their small engined hot hatch in the US???? There just isn't a market for it!!!

Strangely enough the 120 diesel is actually quicker than the 120 petrol - what a fuck up.

I tend to agree that if we added these categories, they'd rarely be used. For now there is so few posts, post them in the General BMW subforum, and if there accumulates enough, we can look into creating another subforum and moving them all over at a later time (like we did with General Automotive).
