Del, I personally like your current rims more than the new ones that you are looking at. But if you like them then I say go for it. The only reason I would switch would be to upgrade to 17's from the 16's. But on E36's I don't think there are any hotter rims than BBS style rims.

That looks so amazing. Del, the acschnitzer type rims are my vote...very classy look to them, yet still sporty. And if you painted your brake calipers either car color or black it would look super clean
