Performance upgrade via Computer?
My wife owns a 2003 330i. We recently purchased this car and it has been to the shop several times already for various issues, hopefully they are mostly resolved. I don't believe we have actually experienced it in it's intended design as of yet...in the shop now for the number one injector. However, during the course of routine repairing, my mechanic mentioned that he could wring another 17 HP and 35 foot-pounds of torgue out of it by "tuning" it with an electrical adjustment through the computer. Does this sound right? It's $500 worth of tuning...if it is true, then great! But I hate to spend that much on nothing. Does anyone know? Thanks!! |
