E36 or E46?
Hi All, New to this forum but not to BMWs. About to buy either an E36 or E46. Never had either. So what does anyone think. There are probably a few people out there that have had both or at least driven both quite a bit. What do you reckon? I live in an area of quite bad uneven roads, nice lot of hills and turns but one question would be is, are both suspensions similar or one more forgiving than the other? Cheers. |

Comparing my 99 328ic to my fathers 01 330cic I will say that in all ways the E46 is a better car, it is more modern it is more comfortable, and the suspension much better for every day use, while still keeping the sporting feel of the car. The E36 though is a much more of a hard riding car that is a lot of fun to drive when the road is smooth and curvy.

+1 i agree completely, i also think the e46 is the better all around car.
