1997 528i overheating
I bought a 1997 528i with 2.8l six cylinder. i am going to fix it for teenage daughter to drive. It overheats in about 4 miles. The previous owner replaced the water pump six months ago. He also replaced the thermostat, housing, and overflow tank. He did this this past weekend. He got mad because it still overheats. I am not a mechanic but like to tinker. Any ideas what would cause this. Thanks in advance.

as long as your not blowing steam out of the tailpipe or losing coolant mysteriously youll b ok...did the previous owner know hat he is doing? did he properly bleed the system? could be hydrolocked and the coolant isint circulating...so i would start by a proper flush and bleed...see what that does...if you dont know how...buy a bently manual or look online...pellicanparts.com...tey have good tech articals...good luck

Great information. It is normal for a business to explore and expand. Because people want something different and want to know backgrounds of company that they will trust.

What he said. If it isn't blowing pure whte smoke and using anti-freeze you're ok. I had a 318ti I bought that was overheating and I blead the system and it was good to go.
