car wont start up

i have just finished doing up my 2001 e36 4 door, in the prosess the car has been garaged for more than a year but have been starting it up and moving it a bit like every 2 weeks or so, but the last time, i did not start it up for like 2 months and now it wont start, it turnes over but nothing more,had a mechanic have a look at it and he told me there is no power to the fuel pump but could not help me, i need help, has anyone come across this problem before? and if so, please let me know what u did to fix problem ime desperate, i want to put my car on the road have been longing for this day for more than a year, for info, i have done up the exterior and interior have not touched engine.
