Clutch problem

Hi all,
Purchased a new 318d ES last Aug which I absolutely love. However at approx 7000kms the clutch went with no warning and it has just happened again at approx 14000kms. Has this happened to anyone else out there by any chance?? Thanks!

The manual transmissions in BMWs seem to be pretty much bullet proof, so short of gross abuse, something isn't right here. One question though, when you say the car is "new," do you mean new to you (previous owner) or new as in being a 2008 or 2009 model year car? (The 318d ES designation isn't known in the US.) I imagine someone must have checked for leakage in the clutch fluid, and what about the throwout bearing? This is quite out of the ordinary.

Hi 3053rpm. Thanks. Yeh bought it new last Aug. It's still in the garage and seemingly they think it is a faulty hydraulic slave cylinder so the plan is to replace that and the clutch this time (just replaced the clutch alone last time). In fairness it does appear to be highly unusual but will wait and see...
