alright so i have a friend with a pretty nice 328i hes got m3 front bumper and m3 side skirts it looks very much like an m3. his car is currently badgeless. he wants to put an ///M badge on it. is that ok. what makes a bmw considered an ///M.

hi, personally i think only real m sport or m tech cars should be entitled to an ///M badge.
If it is an E36, i wouldn't put on on, anything later it would be ok if the car had a M sport package as a factory option, as the M badge was an option on these cars . Its not right that a standard car, even with m3 body kit, should be given the prestigous ///M badge.
Thats my opinion, but its not my car, do what you want.
Yeah, unless if it came with and M badge from the factory don't. My car has a ton of M gear and M badges from the factory but i would never think of putting an m badge in the rear of it
Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.
I think if you want one and it will increase the enjoyment you get from car go for it. With that said you'd better be expecting some teasing (or maybe even some hostility) depending on how "un-///M" your car is.
I guess you have the right to do whatever you want to your car, but people have the right to criticize it.
my car is M all the way- seats dash suspension, exhaust, and a dinan chip- why would anyone critic my car? it is 20 years old and should be commended on how garaged condition it is in- why negative? I guess that is the regular way most react. Im not that shallow myself- a car is a car- and most can afford what they can- no reason to target anyone that has a older model- Incidentley, I have a 2009 Cl65 AMG cost 145,000 so I guess you really do not know who you are talking to sometimes....

No. And to answer my part in bold:
1.) Suspension
2.) Brakes
3.) LSD
4.) s50/s52
5.) Cams
6.) Exhaust
7.) About 50 more things Im not going to list here.
Your friend needs alot more than a bumper and some sideskirts to be badging anything with an ///M. Threads like this make me and and at the same time....what is our youth coming to
agreed a car is a car. most is based on money. everyone would have the car they wanted if they had as much money as they wanted. and if your low enough to criticize someone because they don't have money well eff you. but yea all in all i agree ///M badge on non m car = no.

How was my reply stuck up?....I think you need to calm down just a bit my friend. I believe my post simply stated the biggest things that set apart an ///M3 from a non-M e36. And troll? Take a look at my join date.
