Lifetime Transmission Oil

I have a 2000 BMW Sport Wagon with 100,000 miles on it. I looked into changing the trans fluid and filter until I got the pricing and the why do it from everyone its lifetime fluid. And then ask the lifetime of what? Of course they have nothing to say. Only warrantied during the warranty. Any feedback?
Thanks,
az

yeah, the lifetime fill is bs. it only became lifetime after bmw started paying for the service bill instead of the car's owner. that was changed in an attempt to make BMW's more "user friendly" for the mostly retarded and lazy consumer public.

id change that atf fluid now and then every so often. i think every 30k miles or so. in fact for the diff too.

^+1. I've heard anywhere from 30k to 100k miles. I'd just do it at inspection 2 if you plan on keeping the car for awhile (which you have already)
