Talk about BMWs in general. Post official news, Bangle flames, or anything else related to BMW.
BMW's chairman Helmut Panke confirmed at the Geneva Auto Show that his company finally has serious plans to build an MPV. The vehicle, which will likely be called the "V5" will be designed to compete head-to-head with the Mercedes R-Class following its introduction to the American market, likely in about two-and-a-half to three years. The V5 will share both its platform and its assembly location of Spartanburg, South Carolina, with the X5 SUV.
A V3 is also on the drawing board and you guessed it. It will share it's platform with the X3.
What is up with this????
Is BMW becoming one of those quantity , over produced brands that tries to make cars for every freaking personality in the galaxy?!!!!
I'm scared!!! Say goodbye quality and high resale values and hello consumerism...
ugly mothas huh?
There is a whole line of the V cars coming out later in the decade....
V3 , V5, V6 and another combination SAV monster of the X3 and the V3!
They are suppose to replace the X series I read in a recent car magazine on the shelf and B&N!

From my point of view, it's not an ulgy car.BMW is making it for familes that have many children.A family of 6 couldn't buy a 3 series nor the 7 series because of space reason.
BMW targets it for big families who wants a BMW.Since Mercedes already started building the B-class, BMW have to compete with it's rival.
actually, the change was him being promoted to head of all BMW group design, meaning he now controls the styling of both cars and bikes. just look at the new R1200 GS - it shows.
