How often do you wear your seat belt???
1) All the time,
2) Half the time,
3) Sometimes, or
4) Never!
Honest answers only:
I wear it, hardly, I know that is very stupid of me! I just don't feel comfortable with it on. Although I've been driving for about 20 years plus, & I feel I am a very alert & safe driver. I should wear it all time!

All the time. I have back issues to this day from being in an accident 25 years ago while not wearing a belt. I was only going 30 mph. My head first hit the front windshield (cracked the windshield), then the driver window (shattered that) winding up in the passenger seat! All because someone pulled out of a side street in front of me. I was thinking, "she's not going to pull out, she's not going to pull out..." Before I could react, my car hit her front left quarter panel sending me careening off into a high curb and totaling my then Fiat.
Because of that, and the stiff penaltys for not wearing a seatbelt in California, I always wear it. Do I like it? Nope. I can deal with the old lap belts. The shoulder belts are too restrictive for me. I'd rather wear a 5 point harness.
I think that there should be an option when you buy a car for if you want a normal seat belt or if you want a five point harness. I think I would be much more comfortable with a 5 point.

1. I always wear a seatbelt, unless I move the car out of the driveway, after doing track days and realizing that under hard driving alone you can end up out of your seat. Knowing that I don't want to know what happens when a car crashes or learn the hard way. If you don't wear a seatbelt you're just stupid and asking for major problems or even death. I mean no disrespect to anyone but that is the truth.

5 Point harnesses for everday driving is NOT safe unless you have a roll cage. The schroths (essentially a 4 pt) are okay since they are anti submarining so in the case of a rollover you wont be crushed. Many people don't wear them unless they are at a track or autox. The 3 pt seatbelt is designed the way it is so that in the event of a roll over or a similar event you will end up going down to the inside of the car. 5 points aren't really comfortable for everyday driving as they really lock you in place, if your door is open too far you cant lean over and close it, and they take a while to put on. The 3 point is a great design.

Always wear it. I don't think that they are uncomfortable at all. My mom on the other hand wears one all the time but complains about the discomfort constantly. Lol, but I'm 6'2" and she is like 5'5" so that probably makes a difference when it comes to comfort.

i ALWAYS wear my seat belt when driving the GP, but my bug dosnt have seatbelts right now. ill be getting a 5 point harness or something in it eventualy.
I don't mean to be the hand of God here, but I take this seriously. It's one of the simplest things to do- buckle up. Not to do it is just plain old stupidity. You need to witness a serious collision and see for yourself, hopefully it's not you who gets the bad end of the stick. You can be safe and alert all you want, but it takes one incident where you have no control over your situation whatsoever. There are times when a road situation unfolds before your eyes, and no evasive maneuver you come up with will prevent the impending collision. Statistics show that in crashes involving airbag deployment, you are more than 8 times more likely to die from your injuries if you're not wearing a seatbelt. That's why airbags are called SUPPLEMENTAL restraints.
I work at a hospital and I can't even tell you how many MVA victims are brought in unrestrained, and die from vehicle ejections or from major trauma caused by airbag deployment w/o seatbelt use. If they don't die, many of them end up with paralysis from spinal injuries, or spend weeks to months for other complications, breathing and eating through tubes. You not only change your life with that fateful decision not to click in, but of those around you- your family, friends, even the emergency personnel trying to help you. It's no joke man, discomfort is a poor excuse for not wearing the belt. And you can run all the numbers you want to, citing injuries caused by seatbelts, but what is irrefutable is that more people survive crashes in seatbelts than without.
As far as the cops are concerned, NJ laws changed in 2000. They no longer need a different primary reason to pull you over. They can now stop you and fine you simply for non-use, whether it's you, your front seat passenger, or both.
you also have to keep in mind that if you crash into someone else and you die because of not wearing a seatbelt, you also "harm" the other person... it's quite hard knowing you killed someone, no matter if it was the other persons fault

I don't plan on crashing, but
Always wear it, just like I always wear a bike helmet when road or mtn biking. I definitely feel unsafe not wearing one. I saw a documentary once about the guy who did tons of research on vehicle restraint. It was pretty informative - all about g-forces, and how much a restrained body can withstand vs. unrestrained.
Duke: The lights are growing dim Otto. I know a life of crime has led me to this sorry fate, and yet, I blame society. Society made me what I am.
Otto: That's bullshit. You're a white suburban punk just like me.
Duke: Yeah, but it still hurts. -Repo Man

Well not much to say but ^^^^^ +1. I'm also tall like Kasei and have never had a problem with uncomfortable seatbelts either. Although the headrest is supposed to come up to at least mid ear which rarely happens in older cars (just another safety thing).
