Car cleaning in the winter months, what's excessive?
I wash my car practically every other day, especially when there is salt on my paint & no matter how cold it is! My neighbors think I'm nuts!!!
Do I stand alone on this one or what???

Well the e30 sits in the garage clean. The mazda on the otherhand, I will wash at least once a week in the warm months, right now we have salt on the road and I haven't washed it in at least 3 weeks and it will stay that way until things clean up a little.
Now back to the important machines, the BMWs, I do not think your being excessive, well maybe a little.

I haven't washed mine in over a month... then again I haven't seen it in a month. Usually when I get home I wash it immediately, which I guess is sort of depressing in a way but I can't stand it dirty.
in Germany, you aren't allowed to wash your car in your drive (water pollution etc)
so you have to go to an automated car wash. The ones in my area are better than the best ones I've seen in the US, but they cost quite something, around 15 bucks per wash. That's why in summer, my car gets washed about once every 3 or 4 weeks....
in the winter it's kept inside. I washed it before putting it in the garage, tho... that's probably why my brake discs are rusting now. Maybe I'll drive it real quick tomorrow to fill up
i clean mine as soon as it gets dirty, whether that be every couple of days or once a week. but always at least wipe the wheels off everyday so they clean up easy when washing. having access to a heated pressure washer at work helps too. ill just spray it off if it gets salty

Not crazy at all man. I gotta do the same. Have to keep the salt and winter road grime off my baby. Especially underneath, where most ppl forget about. Then they get rust

my GP hasnt been washed for a few months, its getting extreamly dirty. i feel bad, but its too damn cold to wash it! luckily tribune dosnt use salt on the roads(dumbasses) they usualy just dump out sand or something for extra traction. cant really see it in this picture, but its getting pretty dirty. picture was taken last weekend at a truck stop when my mom drove it home(i was in the bug)

Just curious...how far do you go with washing your car during the winter months? Do you just wash it off to get off the winter grime or the full monty as if you're going to a car show? As much as I'd like to do the latter, the frequency of washing makes it too impractical.

how do you wash underneath montizzle? i couldnt imagine climbing underneath my car in the snow with a bucket of water and a sponge i wash mine every two weeks at the local carwash machine, it costs like 4.95 GBP (10 dollars) so its not bad. i really couldnt wash it everyday, even if i did it by hand, i guess im lazy
