My car may be written off... - United Bimmer Community

as above, my car may be written off, I will have to wait and see what the insurance company says.
I was driving home from petrol station (just tanked up) the road I was traveling on is a speed restricted road with narrowed sections all the way down it, traffic traveling uphill has right of way as per the road signs and there are give way signs for the downhill traffic at each narrow section.
I was approximately halfway up the hill heading towards one of the narrow road sections when I noticed a large 4x4 drive straight past the give way sign and head for the narrow opening in the road, I thought its ok he will stop before he reaches the opening, he didn't! and consequently ploughed straight into me.
this was the end result, oh and the 4x4 got a bent bumper.
I'm ok just shaken up, testament to the build quality of these cars.

Man, I know your pain. A good friend of mine got his E30 (All AC Schnitzer loaded) totalled and the only damage the lady did was hit his rear bumper pretty hard to ripple the rear section of the frame. Good luck. My prayers are with you and at least good to see you're ok.

I have an independent specialist looking after the insurance claim now, he seems to think I have a good case although it is not guaranteed, the car is a write off,would cost more than the car is worth to repair.
So now I have a BMW mini to drive (courtesy car) its like driving a skate board after driving my tourer, still gotta be better than walking.

He was driving a nissan or toyota four wheel drive pick up, my car is a complete insurance write off, beyond economical repair.

Thanks guys, I'm still pretty damn gutted over this but I gotta start looking for a replacement car, I would love another bimmer but it all depends on how much the insurance company pays out. If I can't afford another bmw its going to be damn hard finding a car that comes anywhere near close to bmw standards.
