Another Reason BMW rocks...crash performance
so my buddies were out on a run last night. Didnt go cause i didnt have my car. On guy in the Z3 and two in a 350z. guy in the Z3 got way over his head. All season tires he was pulling away from the 350 in the turns. He ended up hitting some manure in the road, then some pot holes and he was airborn. Car flew over a guard rail 15 feet in the air it took out a tree 50 feet away, a fence, and landed a foot off the ground wedged between the tree and a rock above a creek. Airbag went off. Friend was ok. All the instruments flew out of their place. his shifter borke in half(the assembly from the tranny). here are some pics. Hes ok. was going 50mph we he lost it. 350 was 300 feet behind taking it a little more easy. They saw the wreck. called out his name a few times. Then went to get him out of the car.        he broke the tree in half!

holy. . . crap. glad he is ok tho. i think bmw's do pretty well in crashes, and this only goes to show it.

Ouch that hurts. Another reason to promote a BMWCCA Driving school, your buddy is lucky he wasn't badly hurt. |

Is he ok? Dont drive fast on the street, I haven't pushed any of my cars in a long time, although it is really tempting after getting rides in a few friends cars recently that were getting on it.

damn good thing he's ok. And witeshark when you're in a convertible and the car flips you have 0 protection. With a normal car you have the car body to absorb some of the impact and in some cases act like a roll cage.

he was going 50 mph when he lost it. Ive taken that corner faster, there was dirt/manure in the road. they werent racing. they were on a run. We never race on runs, we have a pretty big safety cushion usually. He just took it overboard. I guess there was also fog. adding to his stupidity i guess. Im glad hes alright. Yea its the same Z3 i posted in earlier pics. I had a few photoshots with him.
