What kind of car would you suggest?
I have been working for the last 8 months and I'm looking to finally get my own car. I am looking to spend about 10-15 k. What car would be good for 10-15k?

You could get a nice e30 and put a bunch of goodies on it for that amount. You could probably get a nice e36 as well. You might be able to find a decent WRX or something as well, what would you like, the BMW is a good, no, GREAT driving experience.

for your first car, i wouldn't recommend putting a whole 15k into it...at least not at first. get an E30. put money into it slowly. when you get in an accident, you won't feel like shooting yourself so much. (as much as i hate to think about an E30 in an accident...)
Sure you could get a nice BM for that amount; maybe an E30 325i Sport or a 325i Cab.
Either go for a standard one in mint condition and just enjoy it, or find one that someone else has done the hard and expensive work on, and that way you'll have some savings. Believe me, you'll need them to run any car and for those unforeseen things that can crop up!
I'm assuming you're younger as it's your first car. Is insurance for young drivers in the U.S. also sky high as in the UK and Europe?

It's not what car you can get. It's what you would feel more comfortable and satisfied with. I could not wait when I got to Germany in '05 to get my hands on a BMW. After my first one ('88 535) I knew I wanted an E30 again. It was my first BMW on my first assignment back in 1995 and loved it. Now I have what I wanted and would not switch it for anything. Look at what you want and also look at what you want to do to it. There are several out there you can get, but like the rest of the guys so far, I would also recommend a E30 because they are a BLAST!!

Thanks I have no idea what i want to get. I would get an E30, but i haven't seen any nice ones.I want a car that you can drive the shit out of and won't feel too bad. But I'll see. American muscle is not really my style and plus i don't think powerful rwd cars do too well in snow after all I live in the Northeast and you never know when we'll get snow. Does anyone know where i could get a cheap supra or rx7?, I really like the mid 90's japanese sports cars.

FYI...u will kill urself in those cars. Dont go on about how responsible you are...i dont need to hear it. You will go fast after a few months. I guarantee it.
But...that would be sick

I'm not going to say i'm responisble, I think that you're only as responsible as the car is . If it has a lot of power, you can't help but go fast. But I think I can handle any car that has up to 500hp after that I will kill my self.

Yea but i can't afford a bimmer that's nice. With 10-15k I can either get a garbage one and re build it or I can get a lease of a 1 series or somthing.

dude, a RWD car with 300HP can be hard to handle. my freakin pickup has about 300(guessing, maybe dyno later down the road) and it can be a hand full if im not carefull(had it side ways at 45 more then once on the dirt. good fun). thats why i sugested a 325ix. found one localy for 3K in PERFECT condition with badass wheels and sterio. AWD cars are much easier to handle if you decide to be a dumbass( and we all do). about the rx7's, those are about the least reliable cars ever built. those rotory engines rarly last past 150K. if you are looking for jap cars, look at an older eclipse. AWD, twin turbo(im pretty sure?), shit loads of power, but wont kill you in the long run.
