valet day

Well I spent nearly all day Saturday and part of Sunday morning this weekend detailing my car and valeting the interior, that was a complete valet, mats out spare wheel out rear seat squab out, everything that could be removed got removed.
I washed, polished, waxed and buffed until my baby was gleaming inside and out.
Then my wife suggested a cruise into the picturesque Yorkshire Dales because it was a beautiful sunny day, I agreed, an ideal opportunity to show of my pride and joy (the car not the wife )
So we cruised for about 98miles and on the way home all my hard work was rewarded by a torrential cloudburst followed by hot sunshine which totally ruined the beautful glossy shine that I had worked so hard to achieve.
To say I was a little pissed off would be an understatement

My theory was always that you could either have a really shiny car or you could drive it.

I seem to have fallen into the latter category

Happens to me all the time. Don't you know that's the rule . . if we all just stop cleaning our cars, then it won't rain anymore

Yeah man, I feel your pain. I live in Florida right now. Our summers are ridiculous. It'll rain for like 15 minutes at a clip. Just enough to mess up your hard work!

BUT - at least your interior is still good to go! :-)

Used to love the 6" rain in Tucson--usually just after you clean the car of course.

BIG raindrops 6" apart and then the dust from the edge of the storm blows by and sticks to the water drops. You end up with abrasive little mud balls all over the car.

Actually saw 1" mud balls falling like soft hail when I was in New Mexico--now that is a trip when it rains thru the dust storm.
