I'm torn

I've been trying to plan my first car purchase after college, which will be 8-10 years from now(Junior next year) and I'm having trouble. I know that the prices on these will go down some and thats one of the things that are giving me trouble.

1) '05-'08 M5
2) '91 B10 BiTurbo
3) '00-'04 M3

The M3 will go down some and the M5 will go down a bit, but I think that a good condition would still be around 18,000 + importing it(unless some one here is selling one). I'm partial to 5 series
but it wouldn't hurt to have a coupe.

Color is another factor. I haven't seen many Alpine White BiTurbo's(2 I think) and I would want it or the M5 in Alpine White but the M3's color wouldn't matter. Anyone have any suggestions or preferences in the matter?

Can I ask you somthing why are you now planning what car you will get in 8-10 years? What if you dont have enough money to even get a regular 3 series not to mention an M5 or an M3? Never get ahead of yourself you never know what the future holds.

Well, since I'm going to college for 6-8 years I'm hoping to get pretty good pay. Either a physical therapist or a pharamacist. I'm not positive about PT but straight out of college here pharamacists make at least 90,000 some 100,000 and a pharamacist friend of mine told me that the people at CVS were being offered a 30,000 dollar raise to move to the coast. I'm sure that the scarcity will not be as bad when I'm working though. I'm pretty sure that I will be able to afford one of those after about a year of working.

don't count your eggs before they hatch. especially not 8-10 years before. that's a whole decade! do you realize what can happen in a decade! look at the 60s/70s!

I'm still planning my 1st car after college...and I JUST graduated.

1) '05-'08 M5--costs $80K-$85K used.
2) '91 B10 BiTurbo--no idea.
3) '00-'04 M3--$30K-$35K for a decent used one.

You know there are OTHER expenses...like apartment/condo furnishing, rent, bills, food, gas.
AND everything that comes with a gf. (dinner, diamond ring, clothes, etc.)

It'll take me about 2-3 years to get situated and funded. AND I'm still THINKING with 2-3 years about an 05/06 Escalade, but now I'm on to 04/05 Loaded 545i SMG, perhaps a late e46 M3 or used 335i Coupe.

If you want an Alpina look to Canada. Theres a dealer in Vancouver that has like 4. Theres a silver B10 here in Calgary up for sale right now. The dealer in Vancouver had at one point a white B10 BiTurbo for $35,000 CDN. A regular blue 1991 B10 he had was selling for under $30,000 CDN. Now remmber there are only around 300 B10's in all of Canada, they have number plates on em to signify that.

If you were saying that I didn't understand.....I did. But I have planned things roughly out, including rent and other expenses and I should be able to afford a pretty nice car as long as who ever my gf at the time is has a job aswell.

Anyway I just made this to see what everyone would rather have of the three.

P.S. I passed a silver E46 M3 yesterday(first I've seen in person) and I must say that it was one sexy car.

Alrighty then. My choice would be the M5, but you should at least look into leasing that ///M575CiX.

in this 8-10 year time span, the M5 and M3 will depreciate terribly (the B10's price, however, should soar). so i don't think he's worried about having to pay $80k right out of college.

you want to buy an escalade? WHY?
