Ok... I'll tell...

I dropped the mirrors off and the paint shop, along with all my wood trims (doors, dash, shifter...)

The same guy that painted/airbrushed my installer's box.... Is painting all that for me steel gray and probably air-brushing a "330i" logo on the passenger side dash panel...

The ones with the regular CD player are a single din, the Nav ones aren't single din.... But mine was pretty straight forward... the only catch to doing a deck in it is to be able to cut the top portion of the factory cage on the inside so you can have more room to fit stuff (such as that big ass harness)

RSF5 10-24-2006 06:22 PM

Kick ass Rooz!! and yes celsdogg, in the e46 aftermarket headunits are a REAL BITCH to install. You have to cut the back and the harness barely fits.

nightdevils 10-24-2006 06:36 PM

dude its easy, you are going to paint your trim and most likely paint 330 on the trim piece somewhere... :) PS...I need to do that as well in my 530... getting tired of the wooden trim.. keep me posted! Oh can you buy brushed metal trim online anywhere?

Rooz 10-24-2006 07:43 PM

THe guy's who's paiting i has this really cool software... it's badass.... he easily had like 500 different fronts he could do and he should be kind of what it would look like... I really can't wait...

xsperf 10-24-2006 11:11 PM

hey, how easy was it to remove the trim pieces? my bro would be very interested in doing smoething like that

RSF5 10-25-2006 10:23 AM

Yeah, all BUT the shifter one....that one is screwed down...

The steering wheel was in ROYAL pain to take off though.

RSF5 10-25-2006 09:14 PM

^^^ yeah I was going to ask you about that. Is the trim clipped on? How did you get it off?

nick_318is 10-26-2006 03:45 PM

Pics aren't working, I think this will look really good after you get it done.
