Midwest Bimmerfestivus. Lots of pics. I really do mean that.
MBF. Fuck yeah!
This was my first BMW car show, and, well, I couldn't have asked for more. The people were awesome, the show was great, the Gauntlet (drive) was the best thing to ever happen to me.... it was the best. Can't wait for next year.
Before you start, if you want full res (30mb) pics of anything, pm me or email me.
On with the pics...
First up, a 1972 2002tii. The guy did a frame off restoration with him and a buddy. He said it was the first he did, and it will be the last.
Next up, an old M6. Forget the year, but this car was this guy's baby. I talked to his wife for a while and she said that he only drove it a few times a year.
More classic cars: a 1988 M5. The first "M" BMW ever made. Sweet! Very beautiful car. (I am missing the pic of the front, will post later...)

2001 M5. The guy said that he goes through a set of tires every weekend (at $300 a piece) and a set of brake pads, also. The good part? He went to my college (UMR) and graduated just 10 years ago. He also owns two other BMWs, a 325i and 318is.
This is the M5 guy's 325i and a 318is (red)
That same 318is.
This pic, from right to left: a 1994 318is, my 1993 318is and my mom's 2000 528i. (Notice how much blacker my car is than his.)
This is a 1994 325is trying to be a M3. I was not tricked. The mirrors are wrong and the VIN starts with WBA, not WBS.
He has a carbon fiber hood that, before he put on the hood pins, flew off the car and shattered the windshield while he was driving. You can see the stess points in the hood from when it flew off. The paint is also three days (now five) old. Also, the carbon fiber front lip had to be taken off for drving.
no, the first three of the VIN designate the plant that the vehicle was made in. WBA is the main plant in Munich. WBS is the Motorsport factory in Munich. There are different ones for the Leipzig plant and for the one in Spartansburg. I forget those.
Here's some of a White on Black M3. Pretty.

This is a pair of M3s, one White on black the other white on cinnimon.
This is Daniel, drz on here. He is modeling the custom floor mats for the "drz328i". His headlight was also held on mith duct tape and his fog light is missing too.
Here is the "drz328i"
