When I was younger I was in to street rods pretty heavy, and I built a few show winners. If you are new to the hobby I have one word you can use as an overriding principle...PATIENCE !!
Even with money you are looking at 2-3 years of blood, sweat and tears. Your cost projections are about half of what you will actually spend, depending on what you want the finished truck to look and perform like.
Try and build a relationship with one or two experienced builders and pick their brains.
Plan your work ahead. Assemble your parts before you take a rusty bolt off the truck. Some of your bolts will break, and thats a good thing. You will find working with new fasteners makes the job so much easier.
Don't become disgusted and abandon the project because you become frustrated with the process.

My old man has a '67 Cutlass in the backyard. It is rusted out. Needs fenders, quarter panels, hood. . . I'd love to restore it w/him.
This project does, indeed, look time consuming. Do it up!
