I posted on bimmerforums, not sure if you replied, but how hard is the actual swap? I am definetely getting it done in the summer, I was quoted around $800 by a garage that has done it a lot, but I could have my car on jackstands for a while so I wouldn't be in a hurry. I should have my truck running and registered in maybe 2 weeks so I can drive that.
Well, that's an iffy question. I highly recommend a breaker bar or two and some really long extensions. I also recommend getting the 6spd swap CD from Zionsville Autosport to help guide you. Overall, you could probably do it fairly easy. Once you get the hang of it, then changing out the clutch will be easy. The 800 dollars is basically a clutch job if you think about it.
