Pics from Bimmerfest Calgary

Bimerfest was an absolute sucsess. They had over 120 BMW's show up. Also some great prizes, including a 1985 Audi they gave away. Also the cruise to canmore totally rocked. What better than seeing like 70 BMW's ripping down the highway in a big ass convoy?

Unfortunatley i dont have pics from the cruise to canmore, but im sure somone will so theyll got posted soon. On the way to calaway park for the meet before the drive up, i was doing 160k and got passed by a 645i doing about 230kmh or so the driver later told me.

Also at Bimmerfest there was a E36 3-series with the wierdest engine transplant ever. They dropped a 5.7L V8 from a Corvette in it. It sounded amazing though, but i think a corvette engine in a BMW is a little wierd.

The ls1 swap is getting pretty common now.. its a rock solid engine that will push amazing numbers with bolt ons and cams.. no bmw engine can compete with it.

It is also completely aluminum which means it weighs less than a bmw cast iron 6 cyl.

They are also damn cheap for what they are.
