Remember that thread about Rooz and I wanting bikes? Well, I got one! It's a 1992 Suzuki GS500E.
Here's what it's got: (straight from Craigslist)
Last year:
New Pirelli Sport Demons tires
New Clutch
New Chain and Sprockets
Rebuilt carbs
New vacuum and gas lines
New dash lights
Rebuild 4 years ago:
Corbin seat
New piston rings
Rebuilt head
New bearings over the entire bike
K & N Stage 3 Jet Kit with open air dual filter
Frame and wheels powder coated jet black
Body and fairing custom black metallic with dark blue flames
Fork spacers for stiffer front suspension
Vance & Hines exhaust
The only thing it needs is new front fork seals and blinkers, both of which I already have the parts for.
Anyway, on with the pics!
For the record, the Vance & Hines is VERY loud. I was just practicing in a parking lot last night and my ears were ringing after just an hour.
Currently, I don't have it titled since it is the end of the month and the DMV is really crazy, I can't get my permit because the testing center is only open on Fridays in this hick town and I obviously don't have plates since I don't have it titled or have the safety inspection/blinkers or have a permit to ride it. My helmet should be here by Friday and my jacket comes tomorrow.
So, hopefully I can learn how to ride it better before the season ends, cause I'm totally hooked on it!!!! Riding slow is the hard part. It's easy going fast because of the physics of a bike. Slow sucks. My weak-ass self has to maneuver 375 lbs without any help. It's a fairly small bike, but if on it's side. I cannot pick it up. I've tried.
Anyway, I'm really stoked, but it's kind of put on hold for now...

impressive, personally non-fully faired arent my style, but i guess its good for some people(especially beginners) because if you lay it down you dont automatically total it
the first year we had our bike, put 5000 miles on it in one summer, and then the tires were already worn out(they are definitely different from car tires) so just make sure you have ample tread on them, because low tread on a motorcycle tire is something you dont want to mess with
other than that, looks like you picked up a practically brand new bike, everything is rebuilt, good luck and be careful!

bikes are kick ass. i just have an old dirt bike and i love riding it. just got done mastering the wheelie. haha. i plan on getting a real bike whenever i have the money. however, my dirtbike is pretty quick. the speedo dosnt work, but my brother was falowing me and he was going 80 and i was pulling away. riding at 12K rpm(WWWAAAYYY past redline). i would love to own a more street legal one. lol.
Thanks guys! As far as the style, my style is no plastic and no chrome. Naked bikes FTW. I've been looking for a GS500 for the past year and this is the first one in my price range, and only the 4th I've seen for sale all year long.
I'll be careful, don't worry about that. I'm pretty scared of riding it. Not as scared as I was before I got on it, but it's definitely pretty scary. I mean, nothing between you and the pavement besides... well, nothing. That's weird.

Umnitza now provides a mechanic to install all parts ordered right in the box! It's their new "Total customer service program" that will eliminate all the haters and keep incompetents from breaking **** and blaming the vendor! When you are all set simply call INS and they will pick him up free of charge.

Your Ride: Whatever I can get my hands on
I was going to make a hooker comment... but that bike would definitely be a better ride ...
