Both of you guys have great looking cars!

With going for the e34 M50 motor (5 series) is that because the e36 ones oil pan doesnt clear something or other?

Yes. You need the 5 series oil pan for clearance of the power steering rack.

Bimmer,what a great looking car!
Your conversion looks fantastic, pulls the `factory look` off perfectly IMO.
As for the M30 airbox.I dont have any real details shots sorry but it does require modding to get to fit.The box itself fits in but is tight against the radiator, clears by 3-5mm i suppose?
MAF needs fixing inside the top half of the box which takes time to make sure its in the right position,no real problem as such just time consuming.
Hole drilled in the side for MAF connection and thats it,just a case of mounting it then.
To mount it i just redrilled a hole in the side of the box and used the original threaded rubber m ounting, that simple!
IMO it does give the factory look and blends in well with the engine and inlet covers.

Again though i have to say yours looks very good,if mine looked like that id be very pleased.
Only thing i would do different on yours is to get the E30 M3 bulkhead cover for above the battery tray, would finish it off a treat!

Tony
