Nice car
I have questions, I am trying to find a better set up for my intrake . . .take a look
You are using the full airbox? There was not any clearance issues .. . etc
Bimmer,what a great looking car!
Your conversion looks fantastic, pulls the `factory look` off perfectly IMO.
As for the M30 airbox.I dont have any real details shots sorry but it does require modding to get to fit.The box itself fits in but is tight against the radiator, clears by 3-5mm i suppose?
MAF needs fixing inside the top half of the box which takes time to make sure its in the right position,no real problem as such just time consuming.
Hole drilled in the side for MAF connection and thats it,just a case of mounting it then.
To mount it i just redrilled a hole in the side of the box and used the original threaded rubber m ounting, that simple!
IMO it does give the factory look and blends in well with the engine and inlet covers.
Again though i have to say yours looks very good,if mine looked like that id be very pleased.
Only thing i would do different on yours is to get the E30 M3 bulkhead cover for above the battery tray, would finish it off a treat!

Looking back at those pics ive noticed i havent updated for a while.
Heres a few newer pics showing a few changes.
Wheels are now 16" Hartge,IMO one of the best wheels for the E30!
Also tinted the rear lights Red and smoked the front fogs.
Bought a pair of new rear wheel arches which will be fitted as soon as the weather improves.Old arches will be cut off, inner arch repair as needed and new arches fitted.
All this will be carried out by my mate Chris who is a welder/fabricator by trade with superb welding skills.
Then i will be having both sides of the car sprayed upto the top of the wings. This will be done by another friend Andy who will also be doing the finishing of the rear arches first along with any other marks/scratches etc.
Hopefully the bodywork will be done and completed by July time?
H&R 40mm springs have been ordered and should be here this week.Ride height on 35mm is just that little bit too high for my liking so 40mm should be perfect.
E36 M3 eccentric bushes and standard E30 antiroll bar bushes are to be fitted at the same time as the H&R`s.Should make a noticable change to ride/steering feel.
May also look into fitting an E36 rack in the near future.

For an e36 steering rack the "shortest" one is the Z3 steering rack, even less than the M3's it seems because a lot of track drivers change theirs out to them.
