Hahaha. I'm just amazed at how bad his approval rating has gotten. I've never been a fan of Bush, and I don't think that he's directed this country well

dont see much of a point to impeach. But i dont agree with what has happend and the direction we are going.

atm being harrased by more an dmore army/marines/nay recruiters then ever before. They are raising incentives to join the armed forces....what this means is that kids arent joining like they "should"..where this could lead in my opinion is a draft.

call me crazy. anyway..i hope we pull out soon..cause were running out of troops. Dont get me wrong i love this country but im not going to war to fight for something i dont believe should have happend the way it did.

I'd like to point out that there are no grounds for impeachment. Plain and simple. We are not in a war. We have not had a formally declared war since world war II, which means that this is technically a police action. For those who may not know the ramifications of that, it means that unlike in war time where the president has unrestricted access to capital resources, as it stands now he must request congressional approval to allocate capital resources. he's not doing anything wrong... legally speaking.

Additionally, with a little reading between the lines here, you'll see that since he needs congresssional approval for more money, if congress REALLY wanted the war to end, they could just deny him funds and he'd have to pull out. But they haven't. This is because the overwhelming majority of congress agrees with the war on some level, even if they don't agree with the reasons why we originally went there.

Most of the political jostling you see over the war is the major players in both parties setting up their respective parties to be in good positions for the 2008 elections. If you look back in history, hot button topics tend to get a little more... touchy... as you near the next election. ESPECIALLY when the sitting president is in his second term and its fair game for both sides.

Bush was dealt a terrible hand and the worst can of worms ever, he did not help his cause with the war, picking on the wrong country.

Sorry Xsperf, I went on vacation right after that post and just got back. I'm not positive it was right after it happened now that you mention it, but he was down there helping look for survivors while it was still possible to find survivors, I guess it could have been two or three days later. My brother told us that the next time he came down to NC not that night like he did about pulling out his friends.
