I've never driven an E30 M3, but I know its a quick FOUR cylinder.

But, lets see....
1991 318is
Wheel Base: 101.2in
Engine: 1.8L 4 cylinder RWD
Curb Weight: 2460 lbs
HP: 134
Torque: 127ft-lbs
Weight/Power Ratio: 18.35 lbs/hp
0-60mph: 10.0 sec

1997 Camary V6
Wheel Base: 105.2in
Engine: 3.0L V6 FWD
Curb Weight: 3976 lbs!
HP: 194
Torque: 209ft-lbs
Weight/Power Ratio: 20.49 lbs/hp
0-60mph: 7.6sec

Seems to me that the only advantage that the Camary has over the 318is are the torque numbers. That's where the V6's displacement comes through. But nm... i'm babbling now.
