1)that is one of the easiest things to install. Maybe not easy on your car, but compared to everything else on your car (i.e. clutch, diff, head gasket, etc. ) it is fairly easy.
2) 8 hours is short for a DIY

I remember when I replaced my clutch....3 weeks without a car. I thought life was over.

You have to understand, when you first tackle a DIY project, you need to figure it's going to take you a hella long time to finish. Especially if you are new to DIY's. Eight hours is fairly short. Especially for the amount of money you save in labor cost..

IMO everyone should do a major DIY on the car they own. Not only will you save money, but you will learn some major things about the car you drive.
