All folks here have a valid point because of their particular situations & past experiences. We also have one thing in common - we're all motorheads. That being considered, 90% of folks we drive around consider cars & driving as transportation only and they don't give a rats ass about courtesy. Driving to them is the same as waiting in line at some check out counter. They don't think, they don't plan - they're IDIOTS. That's why speed limits are posted - it's not aimed at people who enjoy driving & respect it - it's for those who are constantly in need of instructions. I know a ton of cops who are racers that feel (when working) doing a traffic stop is glorified babysitting.
CNN had a good example of an 80 year old woman driving the wrong way in the "fast lane" of I40 - she went 14 miles against traffic before getting stopped. And NO she didn't get a ticket! go figure
