Credible sources, eBay...is somewhat good. But not what I would consider if I were to buy a car. :nono

It is over priced, unless the Dinan mods make it that much to you.

Kelly Blue Book is where the credibility comes to play. :thumbup

Excellent: $28,420
Good: $26,810
Fair: $24,700

BMWLotAttendant 04-12-2006 08:48 PM

For that price, you could buy our used 2002 M5 with 39,965 miles.

Please, tell me I'm not wrong. :doh

Rooz 04-12-2006 08:49 PM

It did seem like it was kind of high priced

TerryY 04-12-2006 08:59 PM

By "Book" values the price for a private sale the price is about right. (Edit: I see from the posts above that they have dumped the price again)

If you can find a dealer selling one for less than $55k it would scare a lot of owners.

Unfortunately the Book prices seem to be manipulated frequently.

Right after I bought my 840 the book prices cut values of 850 and 850 CSI cars nearly in half. But wonder of wonders the book value of the lowly 840 never changed.

I guess that someone wanted a cheap CSI because they went most of the way back up 3 months or so later. I did see one 850CSI change hands in LA for $25,000 during that period.

In 1993 the 850Ci replaced the 850i.

There were also two new models available: the 840Ci and the 850CSi.
The 840Ci had an eight cylinder engine with 286 HP.
The 850 CSi had a twelve cylinder that had 380 HP.
The 850CSi had a special M package wich included M style wheels and mirrors.

In 1994 the 850Ci received more power. It now had 326 HP.
In 1996 the 840 Ci received a new engine but there were no changes in power or top speed.

The 850CSi went out of production in 1997.

80 HP from a bigger engine
Different trim inside and out
CSI was built by M in the M plant
Several thousand 850s but only 225 CSI in the US-About the same proportions in world wide production.
