850i for 15k??

I don't know much about the 8 series, but I always loved them. I just spotted an ad for a '92 850i with 92k mi for $14,900. It's baby blue, one owner, that's about all the ad said. Is this a good price? Should I go look at it?

craig 08-20-2005 08:15 PM

iv seen alot of those on ebay for about 15. i say go look at it.

DEATH2000 08-20-2005 08:42 PM

Yea dude, totally go check it out. I saw a 1990 840i for like $22,000 CDN, so an 92 850i for that price seems like a good deal, specially if its in good shape.

craig 08-20-2005 08:45 PM

but make sure you take pics. lol

Dudesky 08-20-2005 08:49 PM

Thanks. But as I think more about it, that V12 must drink a lot of gas, and at these prices today, I don't know if it's a good idea. Aw hell, you know I'm gonna go check it out tomorrow anyway :D

xsperf 08-20-2005 08:51 PM

scam?

Dudesky 08-20-2005 08:56 PM

What? the deal? I don't have any reason to think so. After some quick research, I found they go for about that price and higher, depending on mileage.

V12 with almost 100 grand on it. Expect some parts to start going and pay some big bucks. Why do you think the previous owner got rid of it.

xsperf 08-21-2005 12:44 PM

thats exactly why you buy it, because of the thrill, who cares about the problems! lol

Longhairedhippy 08-21-2005 01:51 PM

15k isn't exactly impulse-buy material. be sure you do your research.

Dudesky 08-21-2005 02:23 PM

Yea well, it was an impulse last night. Today I'm too lazy to go out and look at this thing, so I guess that's that. I wanna get one eventually, so I'll do more research on the 8 series in the meantime.

Antiburn 08-21-2005 05:05 PM

They really arnt that fast eather. I believe they do 7-8 sec 0-60. Im sure they cruse down the turnpike nice though.

Dudesky 08-21-2005 06:17 PM

It's not about speed. That's not why I like them. They're just plain old beautiful cars.
