850CSi Servicing Costs
Hi guys, thinking of moving up from my E34 3.8 M5 to an 850CSi - quite rare here in the UK.
I'm hearing some horrible things about service costs, but then I heard some horrible things about the M5 and it's been "ok".
Can anyone give their insights?
Thanks!

No direct experience, believe me, but I can only imagine that they'd ask for a statement of net worth before giving you an appointment, and even if you didn't send one in, they'd charge you what they think they can extract from you. I may be a bit crazy and foggy in the memory, but I think I came across something a few years back, maybe in one of the better car magazines, that said a major service cost $1200. Certainly check this out further, I imagine the pricing has more to do with the model of car rather than the actual work done it (he said cynically).

Stick around, there's a guy here (TerryY) who can give you some advice. He usually checks in at least every other day or so.

Pop on over to www.clube31.net
About half of the members are UK based and will quite happily discuss the cost of ownership as well as the best places to find one in the UK.

I don't know which part of the uk you are from but if you take a look at this website you will find a link to reccomended garages throughout the uk based on service and cost.

Well the 850 has 2 of evrything so double the parts cost and then some from the M5. And if you get a csi ad a least another 15% on top for all the parts over the M5
