Almost done... new question:
Well, I'm in the process of putting my dash back together after replacing the heater core. I never knew in my life that a core replacement could be such a huge job!! In previous cars it was always in the engine compartment, not behind the dash. But, at least now I know how to get to it with minimal effort . Now I have the trim to restore and interior to change out. I had a brilliant idea for the cover around the fresh air flaps. Originally I was going to repaint it black so everything was new looking... then a friend mentioned we had a sand blaster here at work... thinking ensued (almost hurt myself, but stopped before any permanent damaged occured): I'll sand blast the paint and rust off, and clearcoat it so it'll look like brushed aluminum/chrome under the black cowling/grille... sortof offset the black and add a little shine, a "look at me" to the front.
Now, I have a new question on an upgrade I want to do. Seeing as I have an E23 I know angel eyes aren't (that I've found) made specifically for my model. However, does anyone know of a set, say from a newer 7, that's able to be fitted into an E23? I can modify the connectors if need be and do wiring, I just prefer not to have to do too much fabrication for mounting the darn things.
Thanks everyone!

Well, you could measure the lights and try to find a set that would probably be best for that. And the sand blasting idea sounds great!

Yeah... I'll measure everything sometime this week... I just repainted the front grilles, but if I can get a set of HID Angel Eyes to replace the original setup with I'd gladly lose 'em.
Does anyone know of a good shop for doing body mods in the Seattle area (or really anywhere in WA if the price is right)? Next summer/fall I want to change things up a little and put opposing lambo doors on the E23.

Yeah, I've thought of that too... but I'm not so sure it wouldn't look good. I'll be doing some imaging this week after I get a few more things taken care of and will post them up to see what everyone thinks. Personally I believe they'd lood quite nice, but we'll see.

I'm not sure that it would look very good either. Do you know if the lights are the same size as the e30? If so you might be able to modify some e30 lights or something. (i have seen angel eye kits and such for them, but don't like it).

Alrighty... here's a front shot. Granted, the new lights are for a model with a different grille setup, but it gives a generalized notion of what the car might look like. I can always manually alter the stock grille to accomodate something of this sort as well (also note, I'm currently repainting my center grille, and this was done here @ work w/ MSPaint).

hm. i dunno.
edit: i was looking for a pic of angel eyes so i can do some photochopping, but i found pic of angel eyes on an e34:
and on an E30:
imho, i think it looks best on newer bmw's from the e36, e39, and e38 on up.

They're not going to look good unless the low beams are projectors. If they're regular lights, the rings don't stand apart from the headlight.
IMO, that E23 is beautiful on its own, and I think some things are not meant to be altered. But that's just me.

Well, it was a thought... I've still many other things to do before I worry about something as miniscule as headlights - such as my brake lights just stopped working... replaced bulbs... no change. the light on the left side of the dash for brake lights came on... it used to come on when I started the car, then after I hit the brakes it turned off (faulty brake light switch?) Any ideas?
