Tranny Trouble
I crashed my 1990 735il (front end smashed bent frame)so I bought a 1988 735i and took it to the frame shop.He straightend the frame welded in supports from the other car and put the 735il back together. The tranny was fine after the crash(still drivable with doghouse off)shifted fine. Now I get it back and the tranny will not go in gear most of the time.I kmow the tranny is good but don't know how to trouble shoot the problem.Could he have fried the tranny module welding on it?ECU?Car was in the weather for a while with out the hood.Bad connection?Any help?I can't even find the tranny module.where is it at?Love the car and I have plenty of spare parts but don't even know where to start. Please HELP,CLARK.

I'd take it back to the guy/place who repaired it and ask him to double check the shifter/cable adjustment (which he should've done when doing any frame work) Sounds like an adjustment and/or a bad trans mount. That is where I'd start
