for the brake lining you may just need a new brake lining sensor.
like this: http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/...ake+Pad+Sensor easy to install, its just snaps in. |
Stupid question, but did you check the 3rd brake light? Many of BMW's sensors measure resistance to electrical current. You may have dirty contacts or some corrosion/debris that isn't allowing the current to flow unimpeded, thereby triggering the brake light circuit. Try pulling the light bulbs, making sure you have the correct ones in there, and cleaning where it contacts the socket. Sometimes just changing the bulbs helps.
